MoMA Exclusive: The latest from Memphis Design Group founding member George Sowden, the PL1 Portable Light, is a small rechargeable lamp composed of a glossy stand and a contrast-color shade made from silicone—a material that Sowden discovered is a great diffuser of light. The light has three dim settings, controlled by tapping the top of the lamp. The shade is also removable for easy cleaning. Charges via USB (cable included) for four hours of light at maximum brightness when fully charged. Use the George Sowden PL1 Portable Light wherever you need extra light, from your dining table to your bedside table to your outdoor space. It measures 9.75h x 5"diam. Please note the silicone shade is flexible, and is shipped rolled up. To help it return to its shape, run it under warm water, and let it dry on a flat surface.
